A coalition of Albuquerque organizations dedicated to engaging families in hands-on science.

             

Albuquerque Biological Park—Includes Rio Grande Botanic Garden, Albuquerque Aquarium, Tingley Beach and the Rio Grande Zoo. 

These environmental parks give visitors a close look at unique plants, animals and aquatic wildlife from around the world.

Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International BALLOON MUSEUM

Dedicated to the art, culture, history, science and sport of ballooning and other lighter-than-air craft.  Visit the Museum and experience the WOW of ballooning Tuesday through Sunday from 9 am – 5 pm.  Sundays from 9 AM – 1 PM are FREE to the public.

Balloon Explorium Inc.

A non-profit organization providing lighter than air hands-on education for children of all ages. Traveling hands-on exhibits include a balloon basket, bubble box, computer flight simulators etc.  Outreach to schools and community organizations include tissue paper balloon workshops and science projects.

 

Explora  

A new kind of learning place, providing real experiences with real things that put people's learning in their own hands.   Explora offers 250 exhibit activities as well as educational programs in both English and Spanish.  Part science center, part children's museum, Explora is a place where families can learn together and share new experiences in science, technology and art.

National Atomic Museum  

This Museum's permanent displays and changing exhibits present the history, science, and future developments of nuclear energy.  Visit Little Al's lab for hands-on energy activities.

New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science

Just minutes away from Old Town, the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science takes you on a journey through the natural history of New Mexico, from the formation of the universe to the present. This interactive, high-tech museum features an active volcano, Ice Age cave, and dinosaurs galore, including an enormous T-rex and Seismosaurus. The Planetarium, Lockheed Martin DynaTheater and our Start-UP Gallery, Albuquerque and the Personal Computer Revolution, are exciting extras on the journey.

Rio Grande Nature Center State Park--Outside, the Nature Center offers interpretive nature trails and demonstration gardens to explore; inside, there are exhibits on the area's Bosque and Rio Grande riverbank environment.
